I went to our "snack bar" and bought some of these small salami thingies for 35 cents each. I got two of 'em. I was reading the package they come in and it is in this sunburst logo that says "No MSG!" And then I remember long ago when I saw a Spaghetti-Os can that said the same thing. So I dug around on the internet and found this website that is ALL about it. I then poked around on there, and found that it is a "drug" that causes "allergic reactions". Here is the allergic reactions to MSG according to this website:
edit: gonna post this too
I found it funny because those are pretty much every reaction under the sun and more. I went through that list and I've found a few but I doubt it's related to MSG. Everyone gets headaches, upset stomachs, runny noses, bags under the eyes, etc. etc. I just think it's a ridiculous website, but then again maybe I should take it more seriously. Chinese food is MSG city
Good thing I don't eat that too often. Anyways, I wonder if MSG is that big of a deal?
Cliff notes:
1) went to snack bar
2) bought salami sticks
3) read package; package reads "No MSG!"
4) i look on the intarweb for info about msg
5) i find website http://www.nomsg.com/
6) website has a general list of reactions to MSG
7) i laugh on line
8) everyone has those reactions to anything
9) i begin to wonder if msg is really THAT bad

Its ever-expanding use by the food industry causes great concern in the medical profession because MSG overstimulates brain cell activity. It is neither a necessary additive, nor a harmless flavor enhancer like common table salt. MSG actually tricks your brain into thinking the food you are eating tastes good. Manufacturers can therefore use inferior ingredients to make a mediocre product seem tastier. Higher profits and low-quality products of little nutritional value prevail at the expense of consumer health.
MSG intolerance is not an allergic reaction, but a powerful drug reaction. Even in those people who do not suffer acute, immediate reactions to the substance, prolonged or acute exposure will destroy brain cells in anyone.
