and i thought to myself "hey, this thing would make a hell of a sleeper"
those enviromental nuts are on to something here.
its a 1800 pound vehicle(curb weight) with a drag coefficient of .25 (better than any other mass production vehicle. ditch all that regeneritve braking crap, electric motor, battey packs, and those heavy copper cables. thats gotta be at least another 150 lbs off it. 60hp (5800 rpm)3cly stock designed for maximum fuel efficiency. now you take that stock engine and bolt a turbo where that electric motor use to be. better flowing intake and exhaust to match the turbo. may need larger injectors. get a custom ground cam and chip and you've got yourself a fun little gocart that should screw. assuming of course you can get 15-20lbs of boost. maybe a water injection setup to help with detonation, they'll be plenty of space for a 2.5gallon tank with all those batteries gone. i'm sure if you tweeked long enough you could get 130 RWHP out of it.
