I was going to go again this year with a friend who always goes with me - but we realized - why go stand in line? The deals aren't really worth it and you end up returning half the stuff you buy later.

I will still go in the afternoon and scavenge what is left.

I feel liberated.

there are good deals out there that are worth it, if you need something.

People are stupid if they go without needing anything and just buy whats on sale b/c it's "a deal"

:D

I went last night around 12:30, just to scope it out, hoping to get the two laptops at bestbuy, there were tents etc setup, about 25 - 30 people in line already.

It's gotten worse, I went 3 or 4 years ago and i was one of the first 5 and didnt get in line until 1:30, and there were no friggen tents you lightweights.

Seriously. People are getting too hardcore! That and I'm not as young anymore to stay up all night.

I stopped in this morning at a couple places and it wasn't bad at all.

I hit Dick's sporting goods @ 8:00AM and found a close spot immediately to park, found the GPS I wanted, the kayak, and the basketballs all still fully stocked on the shelves. I didn't have to wait in line at all.

Gander Mountain was a breeze.

Office Depot still had piles of the 1 gig and 2 gig SD cards ($13 & $24) laying around at 8:30.

The only really mess that I ran into was at the toy/electronic section at Target. That was a cluster$%@!. But I hit 5 stores in an hour and a half with the most waiting done at stoplights.

I saved about $500 and spent around $500.
