So I wanna start smoking a pipe..

I hate cigarettes but I do like a good cigar occasionally. I have heard people say that pipe tobacco is totally different so I want to give it a try but I do not know where to begin.

I receive e-mails from Tinderbox but the closest one is an hour away and their prices seem pretty high so I looked at pipes on E-bay and there were some decent priced ones but my fiancée thought buying a used pipe was nasty. (She is totally against the idea of me smoking.)

Where do I begin?

Nothing like that around here. Closest is Memphis which is about an hour or so away.

I agree that smoking is bad however, I have maybe one cigar every six months. Would not smoke pipe regularly either.

I've smoked from just about everything you can possibly smoke from, and IMO, hookah's are the smoothest, most flavorful smoke. get some argili and a simple hookah, shouldn't cost more than $50.

Nothing wrong with indulging occasionally. My old neighbor used to spark his pipe occasionally, the smell is fragrant and quite enjoyable, nothing like cigarettes. I don't know a thing about pipe tobacco / tobacco pipes (though if you want a few pointers on the finer points of smoking other herbs I'm your man), I'd say your best bet is to try and find a tobacco shop in your area and ask around there.

oh cmon, it would be awesome. They make hookah's with 2 or 4 pipes also, they're pretty cool, and hookah's are awesome for ppl who don't smoke often, because its so smooth...

Smoking is bad. Listen to ur wife. I suppose an occasional light wouldn't hurt to much, but I've never smoked in my life, and don't intend to. (My HS did a very good job of cramming smoking horror stories into my head) Then again, my grandmother is an alcholic and smokes at least a pack per day, and she's nearing 80 with no health problems. Go figure. She seems to be the exception though, as most of her friends (with most of the same inclinitions as her) are now dead.

I'd say it is. Cops take away alcohol from minors, I don't see why tobacco would be any different.

Tobacco is only illegal for minors to smoke, not possess. Of course, if you possess and a cop sees you, it's probably because you're in the act of smoking it. As far as hookahs and such go, they're great, but not in this guy's case. Pipe tobacco is a lot like smoking a cigar, with the added plus that you look really intelligent doing so, as long as you buy a long enough pipe. If you're interested, PM me and I'll get you a few websites to buy decent pipes from. Tobacco shops would be the best place to get the tobacco, though.

? In virginia, at least, no one under can smoke/buy tobacco products.
