So I walked into a CompUSA on 37th st. in NYC 2 hours ago.

I was shopping for a new case because I have tomorrow off of work, and wanted something to do. While looking at the cases, I turned a corner and saw at them sitting pretty behind a case.

I wanted a new videocard for a little while and said why the f- not. I initially bought one, then called a friend up and he snagged the other.

Gonna replace a 7900GT, which I gave to a friend. They came out to ~$308 a piece, which I know is a lot, but I am not so financially strapped that the extra money would make a difference.

Now all I need is a beefier CPU (have a crappy 4200+ X2) and a nice ATX case.

And yes, my car is yellow.

Thats exactly what I replaced. What's funny is that I haven't even tried anything with the card yet...lol. I am redownloading Crysis demo and UT3 as I type this.

lolol, yeah. People were giving me odd looks when they passed by. Me and my friend were noisy about it too. They probably thought it was the car we were excited about, lolol.

Why brag? You could have gotten them cheaper online. Personally, Im waiting for them to hit sub $250 levels.

Edit: they arent *that* hard to find.

( Hell, I'll bet that even the latest prototype systems sitting in Nvidia and AMD HQ can't run Crysis with max settings )

Yeah.

Crysis sped up quite a bit though and is more than playable, and UT3 looks freaking watery now. Too bad I finished Half Life Eps 2 already, this card runs it so much nicer.

I got a list of games that I wanna play so I should put it to good use for now. (Need for Speed Pro street, UT3, Call of Duty 4, Bioshock...so I am happy.)

MSRP on those cards is $200 IIRC. Even Newegg's $270 price is because they are new. If that is the case, you overpaid by 50%. But like you said, it doesn't matter. Having them sooner may be worth more.
