So I updated to itunes 9

I cant drag and drop music or movies on my 2nd gen 32gb touch. The option was checked with my last itunes installation, and now its not. When I check it, and hit apply, it wants to sync and erase my ipod. Is there a way around this? I want to manage my own files.

Have you tried letting it do the sync and then trying the manual sync option again.

It told me it was going to erase all data...

But I did it, and then canceled it. Now its working as it should.

I gotta say, I really like iTunes 9 a lot. The store is much easier to navigate with the tabs!

Wow, good to hear that it worked, I was mostly just stabbing in the dark there. Certainly not the most straightforward solution, but good to know that you have it working again.

I need to use it more to be sure, but I'm leaning toward this opinion.

store improvements are nice...but i liked the grayness of itunes 7/8. 9 looks really glossy (*cough macbook pro screens cough*).

I hate the new iTunes9. It's slow and buggy to name two biggest gripes. And iTunes 9.0.1 has double icons on the taskbar in Windows 7 now... I start iTunes, the icon shows up. If I pin it another one shows up immediately. If I pin the other one, right-clicking on the first one does nothing. I can unpin the second and then the first one. But I need at least one ! So it's either two icons or none *sigh* Whoever did the "It just works" commercial was probably completely stoned or something. It most definitely does NOT work.
