Just to see what all the kiddies and people are listening to, and I couldn't believe the crap I was hearing. I am sure my local station is a Clear Channel so it's probably like every other station across America. The first modern classic that I heard was some girl going on about being delicious. I couldn't stomach the song so I change channels and check back a few minutes later. The dj was on and I thought I was listening to the guy who played in Malibu's Most Wanted dj'ing. It was complete and utter garbage. Then they went on with some R&B/hip hop song that sounded like the 3457th before it.

Music is in such a slump it's not evcen funny. Is there any hope?

Welcome to growing old.

I think that might be it lol.

I'm only 21 and absolutely hate pop/hiphop/r&b/rap...it's complete garbage. There is only about 3-4 albums a year coming out that are worth a ****** to me...

Classic rock, with a little bit of modern stuff. Late nights is all Metallica, AC/DC, Who, Doors, Pink Floyd, Motley Crue, stuff like that.

Everyone loves the music they heard when they were teenagers and young adults. You get stuck with this music and hate anything different. Just the way it is.

Yeah, my 9 year old son tries to change the station to the local top 40 station all of the time, but I always make him change it back. Not only because it's inappropriate in most cases, but because I also want to instill in my son what real music is.

His mom lets him listen to that crap and "all of the other kids at school do too". He actually argued with me when I told him that "Does your chain hang low" song was actually a butchered nursery rhyme. I had to set him straight on that one. God I hate that song.

Yup. I'm 21 too and I started to hate the stuff back in middle school! That's when things like Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys, and whatever came on the scene, and all rap just started being "I am in the club / hot women / bling bling / I throw money away like it's water *yawn*" It was just trash. I personally listened to people like Barenaked Ladies, Our Lady Peace, Lifehouse, and everything else from New Age to Techno to Classical.

The more things change, the more they suck.

I wouldn't mind Top 40, if it was something besides Top 40 Hip Hop. That's just not my style of music. 80s music bores me after a while too. That's why I generally listen to a broad mix of country, 80s, dance, and alternative. MP3 car decks are the greatest thing since sliced bread.
