I installed the trial version and its a pretty slick interface, but the audio delay problem is insane. I kid you not, theres' like a 5 or 6 second delay between when you hear something and when it actually happens on the video. Ugh. I've heard alot of good stuff about it though. Am I doing something wrong?

Yeah you messed something up. I used it and it was decent for watching tv on my computer, but when I wanted to start using it as a PVR and outputting video to my tv it got pretty bad. This is why I now have a dedicated KnoppMyth box.

I had it, seriously considered buying it because it fits in so seemlessly with the Firefly remote but I don't really have any interest in recording programs. ($70 is kind of a ripoff IMO, then again I bought TT for amlost the same cost just for dvds...) The interface and OSD guide are cool but totally not worth the price to me. I also had an issue with stuttering video and it doesn't work along side of programs like FFDshow. I hated the fact that it took like 3 seconds for the channel to change as well. I tried pretty much every PVR software out there just to watch live tv then tried out dscaler (I was using it for one of it's filters for FFDshow, didn't even know I could use it for TV..) and found that it's the best program ever for just watching live tv. The channels change instantly like a real tv and you can apply any type of filter to improve image quality. I think many if not all of these PVR apps are based off Dscaler. Oh yeah, Dscaler is open source freeware as well.

ive been playing alot with mce05 and have tried many of the demos and free ones in the past and always come back to media center.... to me it just has the best overall interface (the others can be customized more but i still havent found one thats as simple to use as mce)

Well, for whatever reason, I'm getting the audio through BOTH the cable and the line in connector, but the line in connectors' audio is delayed. I just opened the audio properties icon down there in the taskbar and dropped the line in slider down to zero. That way the only audio was coming thru the cable signal, which was in sync. Now oddly, tv tuner software - Compro PVR - has to have it the other way, so I have to have the Line in all the way up, and the wave slider all the way down.

I have the latest version 4.0 and have never had an issue. I am running it with an ATI Elite Wonder card using the sound from my tuner card. Very happy so far! Good luck.
