She keeps mentioning to me that ever since she's been with me (8 years) I've only cooked for her ONCE so I've decided to cook for her this week.

Any chefs like to share some quick and easy recipes?

It doesn't matter what you cook, as long as you do the dishes afterwards. :D

Well, it doesn't matter what you cook as long as you don't give her food poisoning ;)

A decent spaghetti sauce is ridiculously easy...pick any one of them from foodtv.com - they just take a little supervision. No real cooking, just time consuming.

Same thing goes for any cream sauce - alfredo is just cream, cheese and what you want to add.

Noodles = easy. ;)

think of the favorite thing your wife makes for you, then make it yourself. tell her your version is "new and improved".

a favorite and easy thing: roast a chicken with some mashed potatoes and salad.
Get a whole roaster chicken, remove the gizards, etc from the cavity, rinse with cold water.
lay in baking dish, pat dry, liberally rub chicken with olive oil and season with any favorite spices.
Cook per package instructions.
Serve with whatever sides she/you enjoy with a salad and french bread.

I have this awesome nacho's recipe.

Take some tortilla chips, lay um out in a tray, sprinkle some shredded cheese over them, put um in the toaster oven till melted. Then top of with several tacobell hot sauce packets.

I suggest the wifes favorite food, whatever that is ... find a recipe online & away you go.

Best thing is that even if it comes out badly, you'll still get major points for trying! :D

Spaghetti. Make your regular (her regular) spaghetti and put about about 1/4 cup or so of balsamic vinegar in. For appetizers get some french bread, small rolls about 1.5" in diameter and cut them in 1/4" segments. Put some olive oil in a small dish then put some balsamic vinegar in with the oil. Use the bread for dipping. Grab a good bottle of chianti from your local supermarket, candles, and your fav slow cd. After dinner realize why you two started loving each other. Good ol unadulterated sex.

Can you barbeque?

Pick up some steaks at the grocery store, season with salt and pepper, grill. Pick up pre-made and packaged garlic bread, read directions on the back, bake in oven. Grab a package of pre-made salad and some dressing. That wouldn't take you more than a half hour to prepare, cook, and have on the table.

Spaghetti is easy too...grab a package of spaghetti noodles, some Ragu/Prego, and a package of ground beef. Fire up the burners, chop up meat and cook til brown, pour Ragu sauce into a sauce pan and heat up, and cook the noodles in boiling water. This takes about 30-45 minutes.

Like chicken? Pick up some chicken breasts at the store, and marinate them in teriyaki sauce, take tinfoil, fold it, throw it on the grill, throw the chicken on the grill and cook for 20 minutes or so...check the chicken by cutting it in half to make sure it's cooked through. Take a package of rice-a-roni and follow the directions, voila. That takes a half hour. Or if you like, just get steamed rice and cook it up and have teriyaki chicken over rice.

day 1: hamburger helper
day 2: leftovers
day 3: cheeseburger helper
day 4: leftovers
day 5: tuna helper

The plus side is that she'll never ask you to cook again.

Judging from the rest of your meal, I was expecting the bold to be "a good bottle of balsamic."

Like vinegar much?

Classy. An ideal way to impress a woman. (<-- Sarcasm)

(Of course, I eat this exact thing more frequently than I care to admit to. :p)
