So, I told my Mom that I would give her my Canon 300D today.

It feels nice to do something for someone who has done so much for me. I kind of wanted to keep it as a backup camera but honestly I think it would end up sitting on a shelf unused for the most part and she expressed quite an interest in it when I brought this up a few weeks ago so I decided to give it to her.

Now comes the part where I recommend a lens purchase for her. :D

Edit-I bought a 30D a couple weeks ago. That's what prompted this.

How nice. My dad got my S10 after I was done with it. Then he got my G2. Next he'll get my 20D with the EFS lenses...when I go Full-Frame.

The only problem I have with the 300D is the lag it has with RAW. I shoot for my school's yearbook and last year, the rest of the photogs used 300Ds while I used my own 350D. Of course, she'll probably be shooting in JPG, so it'll be good.

Nice gesture.

Sadly, I cant give my parents anything, they insist on paying for anything I give them.

I tried to give my Dad my old P3 laptop a year ago. I finally just dropped it off one day while he wasnt home so I wouldnt have to take money. 2 weeks later my wife came home with $400 that my Dad had given her and told her he "owed" it to me.

I guess from now on I will just tell them all old electronic stuff is worth $20, and just take the money and buy beer. :D

I'll take it for Free. :p

That's a very nice gesture and hope that a child of mine would be so thoughtful. :)
