no its not a rounding issue. You have missed the point of calculus. dx/dt is constantly changing. Thus in that 1 minute, dx/dt is not always 1200cm/min. dx/dt is merely 1200cm/min at the point at which the cube is 20 by 20 by 20.

You won't find inconsistencies in math in Calculus. You will find some in set theory however. 😀

Well, there are some technical inconsistancies in calculus, namely that instantaneous rates of change cannot be measured or observed, but that's not important outside of philosophy. 😉

Thanks to the guys who stood up for me in this thread.

And yes, the title of the thread was asking for some flaming - but...

I knew i couldnt be right, as there have been people much smarter than I using calculus for milleniums, and they would know better than I. I just needed some clarification because i couldnt figure out for myself WHY i was wrong.And i got that within the first 10 posts. So, thanks again for the help, and some of you need to chill a little and relax.
