So I'm a total bone head and think an annoying dot on my screen was a stuck pixel or other such rubbish

it was on the page :p

but in the process of all that, when I touched the monitor I pulled off ever so slightly scratching the screen

I'm talking tiny tiny - i might not notice it if I hadn't just done it kinda scrach - about 1/2 as noticeable as a stuck pixel

but now that I know its there - I'm gonna look at it all the time. :(

its there any way to fix this very minor scratch? its about 1/2 pixel wide and 2-3 pixels long

comments & suggestions please - but lets keep the ridiculing down to a minimum :p

***I wouldn't try this personally***

But toothpaste can be known to buff out minor scratches in plastics/etc. Just a thought. I definately wouldn't try it, cuz I'd cry if I ended up hiding the scratch with a big scrub mark. =p

Sorry I can't actually post anything useful heh.

For more finesse than toothpaste, try a CD/DVD scratch remover kit. But test it on your TN screen first. Or some CD you don't like. Do NOT use a toothbrush with toothpaste!

Or try this 'purpose-built' kit: Merlin's LCD Scratch Remover

I know i'm not the only idiot in the world to have done this before - it makes me almost want to cry - I've move and never had 1 thing happen to it until now :(

I did the same thing. A year later and I can't see the scratch or the stuck pixels unless I look for them. Don't worry about it.

i would suggest you do nothing and just get used to it. lcd panels usually have some kind of coating on the outside. if you use an abrasive on it, you will scrub it off, and potentially make the problem worse
