At a local gas station, a guy called the young lady who was the attendent a fkn *itch cause it cost him almost a 100$ to fill up his SUV.

I caught the tail end of it, but he was swearing at her and left in a huff after throwing the money on the floor behind the counter balled up. . .

I talked to her for a minute - quite a nice girl - going to college, working full-time, and a single mom.

Grrr. . .

Some people.

Tell her to keep bochures for economy cars behind the counter. When people bitch she could then hand them one and say "you had a choice".

Well, not that i condone his actions, but I understand. I just sold 1G of dual channel ram and ended up using the money just to fill up my freakin car. $2.55/gallon=$60 for full tank. Ridiculous.

What a moron. If only he knows a little about economic, he will realize that the high price of gasoline has nothing to do with the gas stations. Their profit per gallon is about a nickel or even less. It is supply vs. demand, very simple.

He is the same kind of peole that buy Hummers and then complain about the low gas milage or the ones that buy sports cars with soft compound tires for maximum grip and then complain about the tires worn out too fast.

Now, If I could meet some of those oil execs, I might say something to them angrily - but not a young 20 something at a gas station. . .

Hrmmmmm... Stupid, arrogant, antagonistic SUV owner... something tells me he supports the very reason for the increase in gas prices lol, the irony is strong with this thread. It's unfortunate that there's no IQ restriction on voting :(

And you would look like a complete dumbass since the oil executives are not responsible for the high price of oil. People need to educate themselves before they open their mouths, the asshat as much as you in this case.

Substitute whomever I should yell at about the problem. The 'way' I partially understand it is if the oil execs would open more refineries then demand could be met easier. I am smart nuff to know it isn't the gas station cashier, though. Those record profits the oil companies are making now really is not convincing me of your argument.

That would be great if it was all that easy. Do your homework and you will find that refineries have closed down in this country and not because the oil companies wanted to restrict supply. Most have closed due to environmental regulation. It was more cost effective to close some older ones down rather than upgade them to meet the demands of the envirowhackos. Oil companies divested some of their locations in CA simply because the regualtion made it too difficult to operate and make money. This is the same reason why we have NO nuclear powerplants in the US when ALL OF THEM SHOULD BE....except those that are geothermal and hydroelectric.

The cost of building a new refinery would be almost prohibitive considering all the bearuocratic envoronmetal BS they would have to overcome. The government and the envirowhackos have no real clue and won't listen to those in the know so don't expect anyting anytime soon. Break open your piggybank, eat out less, or walk. The situation we are in was created by beaurocrats in DC.
