So I sat through Gods & Generals this weekend..

Congratulations, you?re a bigger man than me. I gave up forty minuets into the film. Ted Turner should have his balls cut off for releasing that stinker.

I was thinking about it, but after reading all the reviews I realized I'd rather have the fours hours of my life.

mrs. spamela had to see it when it was in the theater, so we went.

it was pure, slow torture, but we stayed to the credits, hoping it would get better.

for some reason she declined when i offered to buy her the DVD this week.

I too endured this movie over the weekend. They could have cut the time down considerably if they didn't have the characters praying so freaking much.

All they needed was a scene or two to show the audience that these were god-fearing, praying men even when fighting on the side of the Confederacy. But they seemed to want to beat the audience over the head with this point!

Sadly, Gettsyburg (ted turners first civil war movie) was done very well, with amazing acting. I guess it helps that it only covered one battle. It also focused much more on the actual fighting. I was hoping for more from Gods and Generals...but oh well..
