It started Monday with a minor throat twinge, the kind you sometimes have when you don't drink enough water. Unfortunately, today, its developed into a stuffy nose with a head full of snot. :( At least the sore throat part is gone, but a cough is starting to develop.

I've been looking forward to this run for months and now this is going to put a damper on my enjoyment. :(

On the other hand, maybe I'll run out the cold entirely and feel fine afterwards.

I had been not become sick again when its time for my 30K in Dec though.

Wish me luck

Perhaps a light run is best? If you push it too hard, you're going to drop your immune system and get full-blown sick.

Just got back, finished in about 1hr21min, roughly the same as last year. Bah, felt like I ran harder this year too.

 Congrats on your time! You tied last year's result (run when you were healthy) so it means you're fitter.

Running with a head cold definitely sucks, but it doesn't do you any harm. I've done it may times. As long as you don't have a fever, headache or anything "below your neck" (i.e. affecting your lungs), you're good to go.

An active immune system fighting an infections uses an enormous amount of energy... if you did the same run in the same time as last year, but with an infection, I'd say you could derive some personal satisfaction from it. Keep up the runnin'!

OP, can you update us on whether or not you end up getting sicker or the cold takes longer to go away as a result of running while sick?
