This game rocks.

I love hard games, and I loved the three NES games. I never played Ninja Gaiden on Xbox so this is a new treat for me. The gameplay is fast and furious, and the game looks great at 1080p running at 60 FPS. Double sword is a great addition, some nasty combos can be done.

I would wholeheartedly recommend this game for anyone who enjoys challenges and awesome action. Ryu is a badass. And Rachel is a hottie.

I bought NG for Xbox and found it so difficult that I couldn't really get into it. I know those games have their following, but I am not it. I can deal with very difficult PC games, but console games that require quick button-mashing aren't something I will ever be really really good at, so I got completely frustrated with NG.

Same here. I got pissed on the first boss and stopped playing. 😱

This is the first game on the PS3 that makes me wish I had one, even if it is just a remake of Ninja Gaiden with some new content and sweet visuals.

Why I don't own a copy yet:

One reason why I still play PC games much more than console games is the normal console save system of huge gaps between allowed save points.

I hate playing a 5-15 minute sequence that comes before some hard point over and over and over again just to reach the mini-boss or tricky platform jumps or whatever.

So on a harder-than-normal console game this extra forced repetition might drive me mad 🙁

They do a pretty good job of putting save points before boss fights, but later on, some of them are hard to find.

The game is fun when you're good at it, but maddening when you're not. The game looked really good on the original xbox, I bet it looks awesome on a next gen system.

The save points are pretty fair I think. I am on Chapter 10 now and the save points have been encountered often and before the bosses.

I wasn't too nimble first few chapters but I have somewhat mastered Ryu's moves. I run on walls, bounce off of them, decapitate a soldier, fly toward another one, lift them up and decapitate them in the air. The action sequence is awesome.

This game has frustrating parts, but I love the challenge!

I got mine here.
Got here in 3 days. They had $5 off coupon but I think it expired.

I recommend playing the original on Xbox aswell as its great. It is hard at times but I finished it. Believe it or not the first boss is one the hardest of them all IMO. The second is little hard aswell and another later in the game but the rest wasn't bad at all.

I think beginning is difficult due to lack of experience and techniques. I just fought the black armored boss and I beat him easily.

gaidened was never just about button mashing. if you put a few hours into it and try you ends up having a gaming experience that was very very rewarding. (coming from a guy who spent 4 hours in the first boss lol).

Ninja Gaiden for the Xbox was one of the toughest games I have ever played. Never did beat it, but I was able to get into the castle and the 2nd mini-boss.

Well, I'll never know, because I am not willing to put in that kind of time.
