I wonder what a "Final Status 0207 - Please Contact Western Digital Tech Support" means. :(
I know my hard drive is fuX0red. Just wondering about the code.
I hate losing a hard drive.
Damn it to hell!

<< It means RMA the HDD. >>

Oh, I know that much. ;)

Just figured someone would know that code 0207 specifically means "blah blah blah blah"

Oh yeah, that was my less than one year old 20 gig 7200rpm WD200BBRTL hard drive.
My three year old WD 5400 "whatever" is still alive and kicking just fine. ah heck!!

Does anyone know if the WD "Upgrade" program is worth it? As in, pay some extra $$$ for a larger hard drive than what you had to RMA.

Did you get the prompt where it says data lifeguard will attempt to repair blah blah blah?
I had error 0208 & 0256 and the utillity was able to fix it on a 60 gig 7200rpm.

<< The error codes can be found here. >>

Thanks, dude!

<<Did you get the prompt where it says data lifeguard will attempt to repair blah blah blah?>>

Yeah, I did get some sort of prompt the FIRST time I used Data LifeGuard Tools that said the drive can be repaired. I didn't repair it at that time because I wanted to try and backup some of my data. Guess I should have went ahead and repaired it then, maybe. However, I have been able to backup all my data except whatever is on my C Partition. I can no longer access Win98 (which is on my C partition). I can still get to Win2k on my D partition, and WinXP on my F partition, and also data on my E partition. Strange, huh? Eventually Win2k does some sort of memory dump and the computer reboots. Oh well, my first RMA w/ WD.

Guess I'll be snagging a new drive tomorrow. I'm glad I was planning on buying another drive. Now I can just get it a bit sooner! :)
I'm still pissed that this drive is fuXed, though. :(
