I was the world's biggest model maker when I was a kid. I made my first model (Sputnik) when I was 6 and made hundreds until I made this last one when I was 12, that was close to 40 years ago. Everyone of them were destroyed by my mother trying to dust them except this one. In fact, it has never really been cleaned until today.
Now, this isn't a kit. I made it all from a 3" X 4" picture I got out of an encyclopedia similar to this picture here. The frame is copper tubing bought at a hobby shop that I heated, bent, and soldered together. The wood is all 1/8" X 1/8" square stock that I soaked, bent, and carved to shape.
So, as I was cleaning my basement I came across it and thought it looked pitiful. What do you think, should I try to fix it after I clean it?
