dumb whore.

her room is the coldest in the house (not near the outside at all, and with this huge unrestricting vent) and she is ALWAYS screwing with the thermostat to make her room comfy. which means my room (with huge windows the sun goes in) is freaking burning hell all the time.

so, i stuffed her air vent with a towel.

um... since she'll then be getting less airflow into her room, won't that make her turn it up even higher to compensate?

Instead of constantly bitching about her here on AnandTech, talk to her.

no.. she'll make her room comfy at her preferred 78-79 degrees, and the rest of the house normal at 74ish.

its been liek that for 3 days now.. everything is balanced.

Fine if you won't talk to her. Move out and stop with these damn roommate threads.

My take was she's turning up the thermostat so the A/C runs less which makes the rest of the house warmer? Blocking her vent will warm her room while keeping the rest of the house cooler

all the cold air goes to the "dumb whore's" room which leads to her being too cold, which leads to her turning OFF the A/C, which leads to se7enty7's room getting no cold air, which leads to his room being uber hot, which leads to him turning ON the A/C, which leads to him stuffing the girls vent w/ a towel, which leads to her not feeling the cold air as much, which leads to no one FUKCING with the thermostat.

There's an idea. Invite Fausto over for a little "re-education" on using the thermostat properly. ;)

The confusion about the vent seems to stem from the question: is it blowing hot or cold air?

I sympathise. I shared a room with a gal who insisted on putting her bed in the window spot and them pumping the heat up to 85 in the winter so she wasn't cold (I slept in the only other space for a bed, right under the vent) and then flicked on the air conditioner (with the frigging window OPEN) during the summer so that it stayed a nice medium for her while the AC blew on me. Gah, I'm glad to have my own room again.
