My order confirmation paper says local service due date is 6/2/2003, wasn't sure if that meant DSL was activated on that day.

All I have to say is DAMN!!!!!!!!!!! This is a huge improvement over 56K. Everything loads almost instantly. DSLreports says I'm getting 1041kbps, a diff. site says 941kbps. This is sweet....I think I'm going to go download some porn

Since you are still before your official start date its possible they may tweak it some more and you might get even more speed.

By the way, your team choked tonight.:|

Yes I know the Mavs choked :( I could care less because I have high speed internet access though :)

How many of you have tweaked your MTU and RWIN settings?

I change my RWIN and it made a huge difference. I think you only need to do it with Win9x though...I'm pretty sure 2K and above do it automatically.

Downloading Halo 2???? You sure you don't mean the trailer?

Don't get my hopes up now... I don't wanna wait until 2004 for that game.

Sukhoi - I'm using 98 right now so I'll give it a shot. Quick newb question - when I reboot does the modem automatically reconnect to the internet?

Huh? Your modem is always "connected" as a Layer 2 device, your NIC in your computer(s) just go out and get a new DHCP addy when you reboot.

Warm - thanks for clearing that up. I had no idea. I thought I heard someone say like they had to set a program in the Startup menu to connect to the net first or something. Oh yea I meant the trailer

Eli - broadband does rule. Definetly :) I need to install my wireless router tomorrow and get it hooked up in my room as well. My personal computer will be my porn haven ;)

Holy $hit, I'm getting over 100kb/s on these downloads. I'm sure other people get faster dl's but compared to 5kb/s downloads, this is amazing. I can finally download the Triumph Star Wars premiere clip :) (Seen it a buncha times but its hilarious)
