So I picked up Advent Children today...

I watched it once it was released with subs. Dubbing is a horrible, horrible thing IMHO.

The only Anime/Japanese Animation I've actually liked Dubs on were Noir, Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, and GITS.

No, I saw the bootleg version with the subs well before it was out, but the NA release with english actors was today.

You can choose the original japanese audio with subtitles, or you can choose english audio with some better known American actors. Basically, the same cast that did the Final Fantasy voices in Kingdom Hearts 2, and some others for characters that weren't in the game.

The show had great graphics. But the story was a bit too complicated, maybe its cos I'm not a huge FF fan.

I thought even the action was stupid. As was previously mentioned, the "friend boost"? Ugh. And then the crappy music in the Tifa church battle (piano jazzy FF7 battle theme). I found something much better to do than watch Advent Children, I'm playing FF7 again (fourth I think). Too bad my discs are scratched to holy hell, and I caught flack when I came in here asking about a... chip for my machine.

The main disc has a special feature that shows all of the scenes FFVII with plot ties to the game. The unfortunate thing is that the menus from the game are japanese, so there's a crapload of text on the screen because it puts subs in for the menus, but not over the menus or anything.
