So I ordered a NEC 20WMGX2 and I'm starting to hear about backlight problems...

The Dells will probably have worse backlight bleeding.

Supposedly, the backlight bleeding problems go away after a while.

Yep endemic to LCD tech period... If you get a good NEC it will be best monitor you can get.. Also the Dell has has probems you can not fix, can not get perfect one! Like input lag and slow reponse and weak veiw angles.
