I opened the trunk of my car after two weeks and I find a freaking hornets nest. Two hornets came out and started chasing me. Fortunately, I was able to spray them with the hose and get away. Any idea how they got in and how to stop this in the future?

toss in one of those raid bombs that you normally use in a house. That should be enough to kick their asses.

In the trunk or in the bumper?

Fill you trunk in with concrete so this doesn't happen again.

I don't know why nobody says so but bees (and I assume hornets) cannot fly at night... just go when its dark and they can't fly to sting you then just bash the hell of the nest.

For some reason I thought you were gonna say you found the neighbors 3 kids inside.

I've seen em fly at night....

I stood under a nest at night whilst my neighbor sprayed it with anti-bee stuff (dont ask me the name, I dont know). it was about 25 feet up from me and a few of them flew out. They promptly fell to the ground when the stuff hit them.

Well, i went armed with some hornet killer. Looks like there were only 2 hornets there. Sprayed and threw the nest out. I'm trying to figure out how they got in. When you open the trunk, the area of the bumper right by the rubber padding was where they madet he nest.

Set up camp in your trunk for a few weeks and observe their tactics. You must stay extremely still...

Most trunks have holes underneath the spare tire so if something leaks in there it can drain.

Probably got in through there, but it's quite confusing how they could bring back enough materials to build a nest in a car without leaving when the car moves.
