So....I need to start looking for a mattress...

I'm moving into my new apartment in a month. I was planning on buying a queen, but after computing the dimensions of the room and all the furniture in Visio, using manufacturers specs, I only have room for a full.

So, I need to find a mattress that will be good to me. I do powerlifting so my lower back is constantly under a lot of stress. But, unfortunately, I was planning on this being my last bed I would buy for a long time, that will not be the case. Therefore I need to find something good but something that does not cost an exoborant amount.

I'm open to all recommendations. At the price point I am looking at, I do not think I can find a decent foam mattress, although I might be able to get a decent coil mattress and throw a foam mattress pad on it. My roommates had a foam pad that was about 3" thick last year made the difference between night and day.

Get a bigger apartment, fitting two people in a full size bed sucks. Fitting one person taller than 5'8" pretty much sucks, too.

Actually

In the last two hours I have figured out why my dimensions were off. It turns out that the bed I was lookin at, at eurway, had a slanted headboard which artificially added several inches to the length. I am looking at a bed at Ikea that queen size but also is 81 7/8", because the headboard is straight, as opposed to the full-size bed at Eurway which was 86" because of the headboard.

So I should be able to fit a queen in there. Unfortunately the lease is already signed and my roommate is living down there in the second bedroom, which is several feet bigger....damn him.

have you tried www.mattresses.net. I purchased from them about 4 yrs ago and several of my friends have also. i recommend them highly and they have good prices.

check it out.

here is a link to a price.

Latex ROCKS btw. better than Tempurpedic stuff. lasts longer and gives you all the same benefits.

I just dropped 1700 one one of those new Visco foam mattresses with a 'pillow top' on both the top and bottom of it....most comfortable thing you can imagine!

I've got a Latex mattress, we paid about $1200 shipped for it 3 yrs ago. the thing is AMAZING. nothing i've tried is better, the visco stuff is just as comfortable, but nothing is better.
