Alright, I have been fighting it, but I think the time has come for me to get another PDA.

I have had a number of them in the past, but I never NEEDED it. I continued to get them, toy with them and then sell them.

Now that I am freelancing and contracting with multiple companies, I NEED to have my calendar/phone list/appointments at the tip of my fingers. I would also like to use it for wireless internet access.

I am having a hard time deciding between PocketPC and Palm. I have used both in the past and now I can't decide which platform to go with.

I like the Sony Clie's and the Palm Zire 71, but I also really like the iPaq h1910 too. I know I don't want an Axim, based strictly on it's size compared to the iPaq.

So what do you all suggest? I know this has been discussed before, but just let me know what you think.

The ipaq 1910 is nice, but I don't think it would fit your needs because it can not go wireless with a sd 802.11b card. It currently does not support sdio, but there have been rumors that hp is going to release a patch that will enable sdio on the 1910. If wireless is not essential then I would say go for the 1910, it looks great, has a great form factor, and has an excellent screen. Check out brighthand.com forums for more info.

EDIT:
It also seems there are a couple new 19xx pdas coming out soon, so you might consider waiting and see if those fit your needs.

Yeah, I am really leaning towards the 1910, but it's lack of wireless is what has kept me from going for it.

Is there a thumbboard addon for the 1910?

Definitely the HP iPaq 1910, if I had a NEED for a PDA that's what I would get.

Don't know about a thumbboard addon, sorry. But I highly recommend you check out fitaly, its an onscreen input method that's basically a reorganized keyboard. I love it and you can check it out at fitaly.com.

I would the the iPAQ H1910, but it's a bit too slow for my needs. What are the chances of overclocking it to 472MHz?

To 472?? Zero chance. However, you can o/c it to 300 quite easily and it responds great. I have it and I love everything about it. If you need wireless, just wait a month if you can. Not only will the new Ipaq 19xx series be out, but HP will release their new 2200 line. More importantly, the new Ipaqs will have Pocket PC 2003 which has many wireless networking enhancements and they will be running newer, faster, more efficient processors.

my ipaq 1910 is great, and oc'd to 300mhz it's not slow at all. however, if I were you I'd wait just a little longer for the 1945. it has a faster chip, 14MB of extra flash rom, and integrated bluetooth

I know the Axim is big, but with an SD slot AND an CF slot, you can have a lot of stuff stored on the SD card while surfing the net via a wireless CF card. Of course, a PDA with built in wireless would also accomplish that.

Take a look at the Tungsten C
