So I need an Amex Card

So I went to costco yesterday and used the become a member get a giftcard offer I had. Only problem is they only take Amex cards. I've never been an Amex member and other than the Seinfeld or get blue commercials, know nothing about their selection.

What should I be looking for when shopping their cards? I'd like no annual fee and low APR, not really interested in the award program as most of them are crap and this won't see much activity other than for costco purchases.

Your local Costco does not take debt cards? I think Costco has its own Amex card though, my friend's Amex card is his membership card as well.

just get the costco amex
it's a great card
cashback: 3% restaurants, 3% gas, 2% travel, 1% everywhere else

I would get an ammex branded card and not a true amex card. They have been blowing so hard recently you couldn't get to do business with them. The Costco Amex seems like an obvious choice BOA is another option among others.

Get the Costco AMEX.

You should, however, use AMEX Starwood as your main card for 99.9% of your purchases as it's the best miles/hotels card in the industry and cheap annual fee. Go to flyertalk.com for more info....

Yea, I was trying to decide between teh Costco one or the Hilton one. The only reason for the hilton would be to prevent the points from expiring. I get cashback with other cards and use debit card at Costco. SO right now I'm just holding off.

Second that. The points convert to airline miles 1:1, and you get 5000 free for every 20000 you transfer to an airline. That reduces the point price of a free round trip US ticket by 20%.
