So I need a DDR setup

I have that. It's good for beginners, but when I did heavy on it, it died so fast. I'm getting two ignition ddr pads with foam from ebay.

Nah. You dont want one of those..well if you get one be sure to mod it like the guy said before. Plywood and tape and such. It will be fne for the first few feet songs like up to 6 or so but once you get past that it gets a lot harder. When you use the soft pads on hard songs it moves around too much and you will lose your footing. Also the harder songs require that you move very quickly and the softpads just dont give you any kind of bounce and they are also less accurate becasuse it moves when you hit it.

Well, it's pretty much just for my wife and I in our apartment. We're not "hardcore" gamers or anything. *crosses fingers and hopes DDR isn't addictive...* 😉

It was somewhat addictive just because it's fun when you compete with someone else. But once you get good, I guess you can get new pads. Just to let you know, those pads work best on carpet for more bounce and less sliding. On 7 footers, I tend to move that pad a lot.
 
They used to have a lto of songs up on stepmania.com but since the peopple that make DDR dont liike it, its no longer there.

I got a bunch of them off of diff sites that you really just kinda have to look for.

I also got TONS off a 512 man lan party i went to..I have thousands of songs for my stepmania. If smeone has a FTP site i can upload them

I have 1st-8th mix and konamix, but both japanese version and american append 😀. But I'd like to compare my set to yours.

haha wow, a DDR thread.

I've been playing for about 3 years and me and my friends enter tournaments across the states cause they're fun ;P This weekend my friend is holding his 6th annual DDR Storm VI in Jacksonville, FL.
