Metallica, CandleBox, and Suicidal Tendencies - Had backstage passes from ESP (Kirt uses ESP). Met them all with my Best Friend. I was 17 at the time.
Deftones - I was onstage with them for 2 songs in 1997 (great thing is there's a bootleg out there with me onstage with them shaking hands!). It was right after their ATF came out and they asked if anyone knew the words to this song. I got up onstage and they played Subliminal and South of Heaven. My wife and I got to hang out with them afterwards. I also met Chi a second time at Ozzfest about 4 years ago?? and then talked to Steph again at a Memphis show the same year.
Echo and the Bunnymen - They were walking around the lobby of the Hard Rock Hotel in Vegas. I had no clue who they were, but my wife said they were an 80's band apparently?
Marilyn Manson - Snuck backstage after their show at 328 Performance Hall here in Nashville. This was right before or right after their first album came out. I was wearing the exact T-shirt their road crew was wearing. I snuck back and met Daisy and Ginger Fish and Twiggy signed a drumstick. I didn't talk to Manson, he had a towel over his head and wouldn't talk to anyone.
Jevon Kearse and Samari Rolle (Former Titans)- Met them at the Backyard Burger in Brentwood TN when they played for the Titans.
Brad Hopkins, Chris Brown and Rocky Boiman (Titans) - Met them at Club 23 2 years ago in Nashville. Freaking Chris Brown tried to pick up my co-worker at the time. She was smoking hot
Tom Glavine, John Smoltz and Rafael Belliard (Braves) - They signed a cocktail napkin for me at the Houstons in Buckhead, ATL. Went there for lunch with a good friend and both of our Moms.
Ron Mercer (Former Celtics/Bulls)- walked up beside me at Viragos bar and ordered a drink. I was the only one who knew who he was. I was telling my 3 co-workers "That's Ron Mercer" They were all know "who?". He had an awesome blue M3 out front!
Ken Andrews (Failure) & Year of the Rabbit - Friend and I met the band after Year of the Rabbits show at Exit/In in Nashville. REALLY nice guys.
Limp Bizkits, 12v Negative Earth and Cold - Limp Bizkits first album hadn't even come out and they played Exit/In. Fred Durst drew a clown on my wife's Tshirt and drew some stuff on ours. We hung out with them for a few ours until we had to leave. This was way before Fred had an ego and became a jackass. They were very nice back them.
Matt Mahaffee (Self) - Two times.
Jim Varney (Ernest) - He was walking around in Rivergate Mall wearing a black Cowboy hat, black leather trenchcoat and cowboy boots. lol
Terry Pendleton (Braves) - I met him in Atlanta and I can't remember where. I want to say Tower Records in Buckhead, but I', not sure. He won the MVP the year before. I think I was 16 at the time.
BJ Armstrong - After a Bulls game. He was nice enough to shake my hand and say hi. I tried to get Scottie Pippen to do the same, but the bastard just walked off
We did a T-Shirt for Bret Michaels and he stopped by and gave out T-shirts and signed pictures. LOL. He was the singer of Poison.
Carrot Top - We met him at store called Whatever. We were probably 17-18 and it was a headshop across from Exit/In (I think we were waiting for a concert) and walking around. You can guess what he was there to buy.
I know there have been others, but I just can't remember them off the top of my head.
I've seen many a country stars in Nashville through the years. Too many to care about. I don't like Country, so sometimes I don't even know who they are!
EDIT: I forgot
Steve McNair - He was teaching Football camp at my sons school about 3 years ago. He was leaving long after the camp had ended. I actually didn't know he was there. I parked to get my son saw him getting into the S500 next to me and said hi and his bodyguard walked up between us. Steve was cool though and he signed something and talked for a few minutes.
