A pretty uneventful tale as 911 calls go.
The town I live in has 2 ramps to the interstate into the city. North and South. I'm getting on the interstate at the south ramp heading northbound with a F150 and some purple saturn front of me.
On the interstate is a semi who decides not to get over to let us on until the last minute. I dont know if he didnt see us or was just being an ass, but it sure as hell rubbed the Saturn driver the wrong way.
The F150 and I slowed down and merged no problem but the Saturn driver had to use the shoulder for 20 yards or so before the semi whipped into the other lane. Normally you'd see the driver of the car give the bird to the semi driver and go on about his day. Not this guy.
He sits in the left hand lane matching speeds with the semi. Semi has his turn signal on. Its about 3 miles to the North exit. Semi in right lane, Saturn in left. We get to the North side exit like this. I'm starting to get pissed because the Saturn is doing 70 (in a 70) and wont let the truck over, and its holding me up. Whatever.
Now the North exit has 2 entrances, One is a coverleaf and thhen on the other side a normal straight shot exit.
Heres well things get interesting, and I make a call. Just afetr the cloverleaf exit the trucker pulls up ahead enough to clear the Saturn and starts to come over. What does Mr. Tin Can Car do? Speed up and pull onto the merging lane for the straight shot entrance ramp. Truck either doesnt see him or doesnt care and keeps coming over. Mr. Tin Can decides to use the shoulder, pass the truck and cut off the semi.
At this point I'm pissed. I really dont give a damn if you want to wrap your plastic piece of shit car around you, but dont mess with a damn semi truck in the process. The CDL driver has too much to lose for you to be a jackass. On top of all this you've slowed up traffic for 5 damn miles.
So out comes the phone, I pull up to get the guys plate number and call it in. They take the report, ask for my contact info and thank me.
So thats that. My first emergency services phone call. Pretty uneventful.
Cliffs
1) Saturn plays dumbass with semi
2) Passes semi on shoulder
3) Makes Spec mad. I cant shoot him so I call the police. Maybe they will.
4) Had an uneventful drive on to work.
