So far, so good. The game's code runs pretty fast. Game and levels load right up, no bugs so far.

So, far though, my beef is w/the controlls. When you grab enemies, you have to click a specific key to "interrogate them." And that you have to roll the mouse up and down is really hokey. When I punch the guy I have to move the mouse up and down like 100x really fast to just punch him once.

Then you have to drag him over to the glowing special interrogation slot, etc. It's HARD to interogate the guys, which is essential to the game....I killed the guy w/the broken window twice. Oops.

The graphics and the way the enemies move is VERY original Max Payne-esque. Almost identical, IMO.

The points system for interogating is kinda hokey. Sometimes you lose points for seemingly nothing...and I don't like the fact that you have to manually pick up a weapon of the same kind to get the extra bullets...PITA.

So far, I've only gotten past the first level. I replayed it twice just to get the feel of things.

So far, eh, so good.

Any tips for the The Punisher n00bie?

Yeah, post in the right thread. ;)

The problem with controls is the fact that it seems to have been a console game first and a PC port later. Unless you've got a dual-analog gamepad, interrogations are going to piss you right the hell off. They did in the PC demo for me, and from playing the Xbox version and having a tough time there I can't imagine how much the later interrogations must suck.

As far as the points system, it's about as clear as mud too. Once you've interrogated an enemy, you can't kill them without losing points. Really, you don't lose points, you just don't get as many.

Grab Schmuck = +50pts
Break Him = +250pts (300)
KO Him = 0pts (300)

You can let them be killed as a human shield or release them first ... then convert their skull into ground beef with a shotgun blast. Both of those get you kill credit, but neither's quite as satisfying as a kill.

Note: if any of them gives you an acid-trip flashback event, don't kill them or it won't unlock the memory (IIRC).

Hey, that's not a thread; it's three whole posts! What crap are you trying to pull here? ;)

My thread is official reopened as the new official thread.

Good to know that it's b/c the game was ported to PC that the controlls suck and it's not me.

Is there a gore hack for PC? You haven't fed someone into a woodchipper until you've done it in colour. :D

Yeah, I noticed that those damn "gore scenes" are in black and white! WUWT crap?

Is there a gore hack for PC? I dunno. Anyone?

Well, I know in the setup, there's an option for "Parental control" or something like that. I don't have it enabled. I'll take a look at it again when I get home.

Oh, you rock. :beer::cool:

I went searching (albiet, briefly) for patches today. Ironically, the sites of the developers and the marketing company have NOTHING. Not a single patch for a damn thing. I'm getting into this game. :D Gratuitoius violence rocks.

Thanks, man.

Hmm. The game DOES get harder. That "zoo level" was moderately challenging.

Now I'm in the attic of (the funeral parlor, I think...) chasing down the Mafia guy. He moves about 3x faster than I do.

What SUCKS is that the other baddies keep regenerating. As fast as I kill'em, they pop up. I call BS on that one!!!! I cleared out the whole building already. There are no more bad guys in there. Where do they come from, thin air? WTH?

This may take awhile.
