Unless the waiter/waitress was a complete a$$, I'll leave a tip...especially in your situation, where the delay likely wasn't her fault. But that's just me.

I understand. I probably would have left her a better tip if she'd brought us the non-lost meal on time and had been upfront with us, instead of having one prepared meal wait and get cold for the other lost meal.

At the very least she should have had a manager at your table. No matter what went wrong, she could have salvaged your neg experience by trying to make it right. WITH THE MANAGER
But, problem or not... one of the first things I learned while being a GM was that ... manangers are supposed to sweep the dining room every so often to speak to guest. Ask how everything is and etc.
You got ****** service all around.

Not all her fault, but c'mon man, 25c? You have must have a subhuman mean streak. I'm sure her sore feet that she has been on for her shift will thank you for that quarter, man.![]()

the manager did come out to bring us the re-prepared nachos. but the damage had already been done by then. This was an hr after we were seated

ya straight up, i woulda left after 45min, no way they'd have kept me waiting that long... i could be doing better things.
i woulda left a buck too, but whatever its the same thing, b/c a buck sucks as a tip too, but 25 cents just makes you look bold, and thats what you were goin for... so.. success!

That's 25 cents more than I would have left.
i think leaving a ultra crappy tip like 1 cent or 25 cents makes more of a statement than leaving no tip at all.

Only if you're white. If you're not white, the sevrer will just think "Oh I did great, their kind is known for being crappy tippers, that's why I concentrate on giving the white tables better service. The good tips from whitey will offset the bad tips from colored folk. I'm the best server here."

It's the usual sub-par corporate fare. Like going to Olive Garden and expecting real Italian food. What gets old is that people still patronize these establishments.

That's definately subpar service, but I would't have left that small of a tip, especially if I felt it wasn't the waitress' fault.

Again with the snobbery. If people didn't like the food, they wouldn't eat there. Apparantly not everyone shares your taste in food.

haha. Im indian, and indians are known to be cheap! I think I just reinforced the stereotype.
Funny thing is, I wouldnt say I'm cheap though (cheap people know they're cheap...and they're proud to be cheap)
