So, I "KINDA" have dead pixels

Ok, like hundreds of these little Flakes, VERY small, smaller than an ENTIRE pixel, when I put a diff color on it, it'll change into red/yellow/blue/w/e, BUT when on a completely black screen, theres like these little bright small flakes, and if i press on them gently, they'll disappear and come back after I let go. So is this "Dead" pixel, or what. It's not as severe as say, yellow pixels on red screen, but it's There on black.

Are these dead pixels?

Is there such thing as "worn down, pixels, that shed backlight through or something" it seems like something like that.

YES YES YES,, That is exactly what i'm describing, I was unaware of the fact that a subpixel could be dead and others remain fine.

Now I'm even more amazed at the fact at how they made 4 million x 3 pixels work together, LOL. That is phenomenal, although now it's broken, like hundreds of yellow/green ones.

BUT, I am quite sure it's the dead "sub pixel" things. Since all of the dead ones are bright, but smaller than an entire pixel.

I am just concerned at how I have 100s of them. And dell said they'll replace the monitor with a refurbished one. WHILE, I'm ok with this policy, this isn't a hard drive. I'm inclined to believe that These refurbished monitors would likely pass un-noticed to this problem, since These are not COMPLETELY dead pixels, in a game/ large photo, one would not notice them whatsoever.

I am however VERY keen even on the dark spots, which is why I've picked it up.

I am quite sure the refurbished monitors would also have 100s of these dead sub pixels if not more. Its probably a design flaw.

I saved a copy of dell's replacement policy as of Today, just in CASE, they try to fk me on it later. it says 6 dark/bright pixels = replacement

Anyone know how/why I have 100s of them, or has this occured to you.

sub pixels are red green and blue which make up RGB color space so you have 3 per pixel
my tv had some dead sub pixels but not dead pixels

I have this on my computer monitor. It's a 1/2 in x 1/2 in area in the upper right-hand corner. I believe the blue sub-pixel is dead, because when it's supposed to be displaying white, it displays yellows (red and green make yellow; red, green, and blue make white). Also, it doesn't show up when the screen is displaying black, which makes sense.

Since yours appear when the screen is black, I'm not sure if it's a dead subpixel. It might be more like a stuck subpixel, which would stay lit even with a black screen.

Tell that to Dell, not me. Is your monitor still under warranty?

You could try programs like Undead Pixel if it's a dead pixel and JScreenFix if it's a stuck pixel. You could also try a pixel massage, which supposedly can (but not always) fix a stuck pixel.
