What does the amp help with? Can it help with bass? My MDR-V6s sound great without one but I'm willing to try one if it makes a difference.
Well in my mind just the "sound" and "volume" doesn't really equate to bass. So would I see an improvement in bass or not? That's really the only thing I'd be interested in.Originally posted by: Ricemarine

They help with the sound and volume of whatever you're using...
If you are looking for bass... Find a good headphone amp![]()

And by "good" do you mean NOT a home-built CMOY amp?

I imagine you could probably make one that's got a low-pass filter in it to bump up just the bass.

Ok, i'm very interested.
I have a couple questions, if you wouldn't mind helping:
1. What is CMOY?
2. Can you make one yourself? I saw these at headphones.com, but they want 150 bucks for the base model and 200 for the nice one. Way too much money for me.
3. If the answer to #2 is yes, can you explain how or post a link?
Thanks!!!
