So I just setup my ATT Uverse(coming from ATT DSL)

I bought a used modem off craigslist and ATT is supposed to be sending me one but for now I am using this used one. Speedtests show my speed being slower than my same rated speed dry loop dsl(6mb). I have ran a couple tests and they are in the 5 .xx down range and .5-.6 up... :|




I also got a text from ATT saying my Uverse will not be ready until tonight, could this be the cause for the speeds? Luckily when i did the setup I created a different username/password so it did not automatically cancel my dsl so I can cancel this uverse if needed

I can make you a sweet deal on a genuine ATT gateway modem...

When we moved out of California, I contacted AT&T to get a return box...they told me to keep it in case I needed it where I ended up...even though they have ZERO presence up here.

i still have my 8 year old modem that I bought off them to keep the "rental" equipment fee off my bill...

I don't know why i still keep it :\

Hmm. Last year AT&T told me dsl modems are linked to your account once activated and thus cannot be reused with someone else's account.
