So, I just recall-checked my laptop batteries.

4 - HP ZV5000 and Compaq R3000-series laptop batteries (1 of the 5 that I own was not recalled)
3 - Assorted Dell batteries (I still have several more)
1 - Macbook Pro battery

And as an added slap to Apple, I'm also taking my oldass iBook to the Apple Store and making good on this mobo recall I never knew about.

This Dell battery recall is a real pain in the ass. I have laptops scattered all over the country and really need to look them up by service tag and Dell doesn't make that easy.

On the Dell & Apples; have the user look at the battery.

If the battery is not by Sony (Most have a JPN stmap on the label); then they are safe. If the battery is by Sony; have the user notify you with the SN#.

Let the users do the legwork.
