So I moved house and when I try to switch on PC in new house, the on/off button feels very easy to press in, and nothing happens. I open the case and the clip which connects the wire to the switch is hanging off.
Phew! Nothing serious I think, as I clip it back and try again........Missing Operating System!
So I figure maybe something else is loose, and refit all cables and connectors.....same message.
Boot off floppy and try to run FDISK - no HDD present.
So I hook up a spare disk and install Windows, eveything else seems to work well.
Then I hook up my original drive as a slave......and it sees it AND can read it, it can read all data files on all partitions.
So what could be wrong with it??? It's getting replaced, but I'm curious......
