It's really thick...and...not...like any branded peanut butter...

I don't think I like it until I chew a bit....it had a nice aftertaste though...a bit salty...

organic food is....a ride.

I don't know about organic though. I like a little mystery in my food sometimes.

I'd figure if those crunchy things in it are actually peanuts then they are a class above the rest.

To reply to the above.

R - I eat peanut butter sandwiches a lot, but the all natural peanut butter was an experiment.

HB - It was me trying to get the sandwich down and thinking while doing it.

R - Then yes, you would find it a class above the rest. It wasn't bad, could of used a bit of sugar and a tad less salt to make it perfect to me, I like it a little sweet.

Anyhow, I'm on the last few bites of the 2nd sandwich. These set well, they have a solid consistency in my stomach. Not too heavy, but fills ya up.

I eat the "natural" style of PB too, it must be stirred when first opened as the oil will
rise to the top. It's a LOT healthier than reg. PB, in reg PB they add soybean oil to
help stabilize the product but this adds a lot of trans-fats as well. Good choice..

It was too thick to stir really! Don't know how ya do that. =)

It's not that bad, I'm sure it's good for ya, ...I need to hit the hay, my foods gone and I'm running low on Canada Dry. Man I'm eating different lately. 0.o

I had all this left over food from when I got over a case of Food Poisoning and everything made me sick.

Almost all food we eat is organic. Someone just found a way to market it and profit.

Teddy B's all natural low sodium PB ftw. <3 the stuff. Although I did pick up some Smuckers all natural, not bad. MUCH less salt than conventional PB, but lots more than Teddy B's!!

In general where Organic = Natural and without hormones or pestacides, it's different.
Whether or not it has any long term effect difference to our health, I don't know.

Some products that are marketed as Organic do have a better quality to them, but not all. Try some and see, ymmv as to whether or not it's worth any price difference.

Homemade peanut butter is ok, but, tastes more like mushed peanuts then the stuff we're used to.

Because mushed peanuts is what it is!

A lot of trans fats???

It's less than .5g per serving and is only used as a stabilizer.

Trans fats are like any other food that's bad for you: Limits and moderation are key. Peanut butter has very little and the benefits it offers for the food cannot be achieved with any other ingredient. Much like shortening for cakes.

I don't agree that moderation is key with respect to something like trans fats, but either way it's a completely unnecessary ingredient. Consumers get so used to having things a certain way that they can't be bothered with the inconvenience of stiring the mixture. It's not that difficult really, and it tastes far better.

I love all natural peanut butter. Not for any real health reasons, I just like it better. I leave it out on the counter for 5 minutes or so before using it and makes it far easier to spread.

No brand is going to eliminate it. If all brands but one did, that one brand would dominate the market.

Kids don't like gross. And separated PB is gross to them.

Also, the taste issue is subjective. Personally, I don't much like the taste of the "natural" PBs. Nor do I like gritty or chunky PBs.

If natural PBs were considered better tasting, they would dominate the market. They do not.

Trans fats are like anything else that's bad for you: The dose makes the poison. The studies show diets HIGH in trans fats cause harm. They do NOT say diets with any trans fats, no matter how limited, is harmful.

There ARE some legitimate uses for hydrogenated oils. Shortening comes to mind. Stabilizers in foods is another. When used for this purpose very little is needed.

Trans fats became so prevalent when the food police started demanding they be used in place of saturated fats back in the 80s. They had the mistaken impression that trans fats were better for you than saturated fats.

THAT'S where the harm comes from. The 2,3,4 or 5 grams or trans fats in French fries and other fried foods and the margarine used as cooking oil. Not the insignificant amount in PB.

Amused, looked into the trans-fat question, you are correct, PB is very low in this regard
but to me the natural stuff just tastes better, more nutty flavor.

I just bought my first jar of "natural" peanut butter last week. It's not better, it's not worse, it's just "different" than what I'm used to.

When you eat "normal" PB for 30 years you get accustomed to the way it tastes. "Real" peanut butter is just different than Skippy/Jiff. It's not as sweet, it's more gritty, and it doesn't spread as well.

Back to back I'd prefer the "normal" stuff to the "real" stuff. But after eating a few jars of the real stuff I'll just get used to it and it will become the new "normal". When you put a little honey in with it the sweetness is there and it helps spread it better.

With the "real" stuff I get more protein, twice the fiber, plus a good dose of Omega-3's (flax seed is added) for less calories than the big box PB brands.

Price is about the same. After eating the real stuff for a while I'm sure Jiff will taste far too sweet for my tastes. It's amazing at how easily your tastes adapt.

Most branded PB is WHOLE foods. The ONLY difference is the addition of a stabilizer and maybe a little more sugar.

It is no more refined than the natural stuff.

i'm talking about the big machine that grinds the peanuts into a chunky soft serve into your little plastic container. it tastes WAY better than any of the branded stuff.
