i don't remember the whole thing, here's the parts i do remember...
it was about 11pm teusday night, i had just left our neighborhood and turned onto the main road that heads into town, speed limit there is 55, i was comng up on sharp bend in the road that has a bridge going over a (dry) creek i saw a vehicle coming towards me, didn't think anything of it... until i realized he was FLYING, going at least 90 or so by my best guess...AND IN MY LANE, as you have to hug the corner over the bridge in order to handle control through the corner ( i know, as admittedly i've done it myself) i guess he didn't see my headlights coming because he made no attempt to move... i had no where to swerve so i did the only thing i thought might save me... i went into the ditch.... now i was going 55-60, and headed straight toward the creek... i remember bracing for impact but it came before i thought it would.... i hit a tree, head on...blacked out from the impact or the air bag nailing me... i came to i dont know how much longer, the guy who ran me off the road didn't even stop... i managed to pull myself out of the car, i remember knocking on someone's door..they let me in and layed me on the couch and called 911... i guess i blacked out again.... i remember glimpes of the inside of the ambulance, and then i remember coming into the ER on a stretcher, and then really nothing else much until my wife and kids and my mother were all there the next morning... the car is completely totalled, the hood is smashed in all the way to the passenger compartment, im pretty sure the airbag saved my life as i surely would have been ejected...
i have a crack in my skull right between my eyes, of course it split my head open right there as well so i have a huge gash there now, probably gonna leave a nasty scar, had a concussion, i also have some nasty gashes on my left arm as well i guess from glass, or maybe the airbag... and some nasty burns on my neck/chest from the airbag...
anyway, that's where i've been the last few days..
