Well, i've finally crumbled and decided to purchase an Ipod touch, in spite of all the problems relating to the lcd screen i've been hearing. Let me tell you that I am nothing short of impressed at just how much this little guy can do.

Surfing: By far the most impressive facet about this device is it's surfing ability. Really, every mobile device i've used thus far to surf was really a joke. Crappy loads times, poor controls, web pages improperly displayed, you name it. Well kiss all that goodbye with this ipod. Surfing on this device is so smooth and beautiful. Pages load quickly off my wifi network and render just like how you would expect on a regular desktop. Then there's the bookmarks, and the elegant way you use two fingers to zoom in and out. Just beautiful. It took me a while to get accustomed to the keyboard interface but once you do, it feels very natural.

Music and video: You know those gimmicky ads they keep showing demonstrating the cover flow feature? Personally speaking, I kind of thought it was too good to be true. It seemed too smooth and fluid to be coming from a mobile device. Well let me tell you that it absolutely performs like how you see on their ads. It's a really cool way to browse through your library of music except now i've gotta find album covers for my entire library :(. Videos look really good on this device and im fairly certain i don't have the muddy black color issue that's been plaguing the earlier launch models. I have week 47 if anyone's interested in knowing.

Altogether, a truly revolutionary device that really met and even blew away my own expectations .

I feel the exact same way. I just bought a 32GB iPod touch. I usually hate Apple, but the touch is perfect in nearly every way. The web browsing experience is simply amazing and the whole UI is top notch.

Can't wait for the 2.0 firmware, although I'd rather not pay $20 for it.

no they don't have Bluetooth at all, I am impressed by mine the interface is perfect. I find myself still playing with it even when I don't want to listen to music. It's not perfect overall, but it's still the best multimedia device I've used, and Apple absolutely nailed the UI. As OP said Cover Flow is just bad ass, I flick threw my collection for no reason just to watch it in action, never gets old to me.

No bluetooth at all? Shame. I need my media device to support A2DP - we're not technically allowed to have PDAs or phones on the floor, but are allowed to listen to music. I just tell them my jabra BT headphones are a music player. It looks like one, heh.

I'm waiting for the next refresh to include bluetooth before I pick one up.

I've never found Bluetooth headphones to sound as good as regular wired headphones. There's always some static/hiss or audio dropout here and there in my experience with two different bluetooth headphones.

I'm not looking for BT headphones. I'm looking to use it for DUN when I'm in a wifi deadspot to use with my Verizon cell. :D
