Well, not totally done. He still needs to DL windows updates at his place and install his games and such. But, the hardware and driver installation parts are complete.

He's now the proud owner of an A64 3200 s939, an Abit AV8 mobo, 1GB of Corsair DDR400, 80GB hdd, and a eVGA 6800GT. Not too shabby either. Sadly, its faster than my own system. :(

This was also my first experience working with an A64. He'd purchased the retail chip. Retail HSF is a good size, and fairly easy to install. Fortunately, the Abit mobo already had the back panel support part of the HSF mounted and screwed into place. Went very smoothly.

I wish I'd had time to run some benches, but he and I were both tired.

The difference in EQ2 from my laptop, where he has been playing, to the new system w/ 6800GT will be like night and day though. :D
