So i just found out that a girl I hooked up with soph year had a kid couple weeks back

man I can't help but to find the whole idea very disconcerting. I knew she got engaged at some point during my senior year (05/06), but a kid!?! damn ....!

Why do you care/why does this affect you? I also cringe at the idea of people having kids at such a young age, but oh well, their choice.

Mostly because i somehow imagine myself in that situation ... and it just plain dusturbs me. Kid at 22 right after graduation (that must've been pre-planned - e.g. during senior year of college) is odd by Michigan standards..

Its amazing what looking into the past can dig up. People you used to know who died from a Drug OD, or got Rich out of high school, or are married with kids, and you are just so far away from the people you used to call friends. Im only 22 and I have known different people who fit into all the above categories, and yet here I am working on my MS in college, not quite out into anything big *yet*.

I don't see why it's an issue, lots fo people have kids when their young. I know it's not in the formula for success everyone on theese fourms seems to live by, but sometimes life doesn't follow the rules. Get over it, get used to it, life is what happens to you while you're making other plans.

I think I know what the OP is saying. At least, I can say that a girl I dated had a kid and got married a few years back...we dated like 7 years ago. It's weird because I knew her before she had a grown-up life. It makes me realize that this is going to happen to more and more people around me until I eventually have a family to care for....and this could happen almost anytime to most of us with less than a year's notice...even with planning, stuff sometimes happens. :p

22 is not to young to have a kid. while i waited not everyone has to.

but yeah times change. One of the guys i was friends with in high school died in college of a OD. in high school this kid was straight edge. no drugs no alchohol no nothing. lived a clean life. at least until college where he tried everything. got kicked out of one of the top schools in Il and had to transfer to NIU. where he continued his downward spiral. to bad it ended in his death.

it cracks me up whenever i find ex's like that... seems like a lot of them from years back have kids now...and it was all with the guy they met right after me...most of them are single and the guy is not in the picture. One even tried getting back together with me or something, it was funny in a sad way.
