So I just finished Shadow of the Colossus...

I thought the game was fairly good. The gameplay was pretty unique so that I liked a lot. However, what I did not like was getting to each colossus. I played the game on and off in the last two months because it felt like a chore to reach each colossus. At the end of the game, I felt like I was watching something Hideo Kojima made. :)

I know this game was not made for everyone and I guess I'm part of that crowd. I also don't see this game as exceptional as everyone praises it to be although I have to admit that I am a bit of a Nintendo/Microsoft fanboy (on a side note, I do love a lot of Sony franchises).

With that said, should I go play Ico? For me, I just want to know why people are so excited about Project Trico. I know I'll buy a PS3 for God of War III, just not quite for the upcoming Team Ico game. :(

Ah, for me it didn't seem to take all that long to find each one. And you get to ride through some beautiful, relaxing scenery. Not quite the graphics of today, but still very nice even now. It was nice to take it slow and take in the sights. Plus there's the fruit and lizards to find.

If it was mostly action it would really change the mood of the game to me.

I thought Ico was excellent as well, but if you want the more typical instant gratification action/shooter games maybe not. If you like gradually solving puzzles though, play it. It's not a long game. Maybe try to borrow it from someone and give it back if you don't like it.

I'm the opposite, Project Trico would make me consider a PS3 a lot more than God of War III. But with friends with a PS3 and already owning a 360/wii/pc that seems unlikely.

Ico (the whole game) is sort of like one of those dungeons in a Zelda game where you have to carry something around the whole time and solve puzzles. I didn't like it but many people did.

Like armchair athlete said, if you want an action game like GoW then ICO prolly won't be your thing. ICO has even less action than SoTC, so unless you really like puzzles I wouldn't think you would like it.

Alright, thanks y'all. I'll probably pick up Ico on a lazy summer day. :)

Well, you just played one of the two reasons. TBH, at this point that's kind of like asking why people are excited about GoWIII or GT5.
