So I just drove my car home. Put about 60 miles on the new motor so far.

The motor is working out great so far. Car still has some things to work out, though:

1) Heater core leaks. :| I guess that's what you get for leaving it sitting for months.... for now the heater has been bypassed. I won't need it for a while anyway.

2) AC needs to be charged. We had to discharge it to pull the motor. So, yeah, it needs to be charged.

3) Needs tires. The left rear tire has a flat spot on it. Makes the car vibrate to hell over 70mph or so.

4) General break-in, tuning, adjustment, etc.

So far so good, though :) I'm not going to push the engine hard for a while. I've at least got to get the first oil change out of the way (that will be done at 500 miles)

The car ran well the whole way home. Idles well ,cruises well (except thew tire thing...) Oil pressure and temp gauges look good.

I'm going to try and get new tires tomorrow or monday, and I'm going to have to make plans to replace the heater core and charge the AC.

Awesome. :)

Be gentle for breakin, and she should last you a while.

No fricking idea... but it's definitely got a flat spot on it. The tread on on side is about 1/2 the depth (or less) of the tread on the rest of the tire.

Love those first few nervous miles...."What's that smell? Is it hot? Is there an oil leak? What's that noise??? Dammit, I just sunk a lot of $$ into this!!!" etcetera.

Can't wait for the first timeslips :D
