So I just built my first computer...

I finished it this morning at around 5 AM. Got Windows installed, updated drivers, everything looks great. I even installed Crysis and watch the intro movie.

I downloaded SpeedFan to check my temps to make sure everything looks okay. It's currently saying 37C for my GPU and then there's Temp1: 31C and Temp2: 21C, but also Core 0: 28C and Core1: 36C. Which one of those do I care about?

Basically I'd like to know what other programs/tests I should run to make sure everything in there is okay? I'm stable and left the computer on during my nap, but I just want to be sure nothing is going wrong in there. Someone suggested 3dMarkVantage but I'm having trouble installing it, anything else?

Thanks in advance. I was so worried about the actual build that now that I've done it successfully, I didn't really think about the stuff I needed to do after Windows was up and running lol.

That's a very nice build you got there.
You care about both cores, when they're idle it doesn't really matter how big the difference, but when you full load them for about 30 minutes they show their true temp delta, you will almost always have a delta (unless your chip's delta was perfectly counteracted by your poor mounting :p) and if the delta is too large at load, it might indicate that the mounting needs tightening/loosening or maybe even a lapping if the surfaces of the cpu or heatsink just suck. This isn't something that most people care about/affects stability too much, but something to check on if you want.

Might want to run Glary Utilities or CCleaner for registry clean-ups, just to tie up the loose ends that are hanging about. Other than that, unless you plan on overclocking, your system is now ready to kick the ass out of some dual-core optimized apps. :D

Don't use speedfan.

Use Realtemp for CPU temps.
Use GPU-Z or Rivetuner for GPU temps
Use LinX (linpack with a GUI) for CPU stressing.
Use Furmark for GPU stressing.

Get some games loaded and play with the new baby, of course!

Enjoy!
