...So I installed MS AntiSpyware on a friend's computer...

Ran a quick scan on the computer with her monitor off, watched 4 episodes of 24 with my gf, and in the morning, checked the computer. Apparently, the boot record was wiped off the computer. It won't even boot. I'm so fukked!!!

tell your friend you did your best. give her your condolences and then get a new computer.

or you can try using the BartPE disc do attempt repair with some of your own tools if Microsoft XP Repair console fails

Been using this on 100's of PC's since Feb. Has always worked fine. He might have had some kind of boot level virus or hard drive damage.
