Exactly the idea. If you have a small condo, a lot of cash, and no sense of value, Bose is for you.

A lot of people confuse quality with value. In terms of quality, Bose isn't horrible. They're nowhere near good either, but there's a stereotype here that they make the worst speakers you could possibly assault your ears with, and it simply isn't true. In terms of value, ie. amount of quality per dollar spent, they're just awful. So it's not surprising you didn't hate it.

meh

What would you buy instead of the Wave Radio ?

What does it cost?

Does the solution have to be portable? Can it be a 2.1 system?

EDIT: $500?

Wave Radio is in the range of 499 and up.
Wave Radio is not portable. Its just sits in one place and thats it.
It could be a 2.1.

Maybe

Onkyo stereo receiver ($86)
+
ELTs ($99)
+
Dayton 12" sub ($138)
= $323

Or

The Onkyo with a more expensive bookshelf speakers
Ascend 170s ($328)
Axiom M3ti's ($300)
ELTs with bass stations ($399)
Something from the Paradigm Performance series (Atom $199, Titan $229, Focus $319)

I dunno... lots of options.

If they sold it for $80-$120 I would be impressed.

But $500? Um, no. That's like being impressed with a $15 stick of gum.
