I wonder if I can call up ATT CSR and talk to them about cutting back on my bill or not. Man! This is the first time I went over the limits...Anyone with successful experience?

i don't have a cell phone

i don't answer the phone at home (99% of the time its for my wife and i am not her answering service)

i don't answer my phone at work because 90% of the time i am not in my cube

i don't check the voice mail on my phone at work because i don't feel like it

i basically don't really like talking on the telephone ;)

When I got my first cell phone in 1990, my monthly bill averaged $350/month. Ahh, those were the days.

You are the man FoBot....I feel the same way...I've never had a cell phone, and don't plan on it. Phones are just annoying....so are people in movies with them. I don't even understand how people shop at Evil-Mart with them, and drive.....

1) I only have a cell phone because my employer pays for it and requires me to carry it.

2) Me neither. The calls are always for my wife or kids and it drives them nuts when I just sit there and listen to the phone ring.

3) I work in the field, but when my phone rings I look to see who is calling. If I feel like answering it I do, if not I don't.

4) Ditto. I already know that those messages are from my boss or a customer who want me to do something. If I don't check the message, I don't know. If I don't know, I don't have to do it.

5) I agree. I could live my whole life without a telephone.

Amateur. My friend once rung up $285 on his VoiceStream bill then his parents took it away. I didn't believe him at first then he showed me the bill and I was amazed...

My wife has to turn in expense reports for all the managers under her. Some of these people have not figured out that they are going to go over their limit every month. Some of their bills top $400 a month.

Since my wife went to the $150 plan she hasn't gone over. I piggyback my phone(which I almost never use) for $20 more on the same account.

Well, I'm with Sprint and supposedly the largest consumer plan they have is the 89.99 a month for like 1000 anytime,5000 Night and weekend minutes. The problem is I always go over my anytime minutes by a large amount and have plenty of unused N/W minutes. I've been meaning to call them to try to work out a different kind of deal. But I haven't had the time. My gf gets unlimited sprint to sprint minutes. They told me that kind of feature wasn't available. I think they screwed up somewhere, either she got a business deal by mistake or I am getting shafted.

Ditto that! I got caller ID and cordless phones in everybody's rooms, so they could pick up, rather than me.

I feel for you HappyPuppy. I was tethered to my job via cell phone for the last 4 months... ugh. In that four month period, I took advantage of having it at my disposal exactly two times! Big deal. I won't be opting for cell sevice for a long, looooonnng time! WTF would I want to make myself more available? Heh, probably why I don't use AIM, ICQ, MSIM or anything else, either!

I used prepaid too cause its more for convenience than because I acutally need it. If I"m calling LD, i'll just use a regualr phone and a calling card.

I barely use my cell so the minutes just keep rolling over.

"a cell phone is amazingly useful when you get stuck on the side of a road."

Yeah, I bet that's how these guys run up hundred dollar phone bills.

I've gotten by almost thirty years driving around without a cell. Miraculous, eh?

i spend $10 every 60 days on mine. It sits in my car is only for emergencies. I dont have theis urge to pretend i'm important, as most people do. I dont give a flying rats ass about how much you love your wife and feel the need to express it in line at the supermarket.

Ok I used to work for an AT&T Wireless call centre. When you get your phone stolen, REPORT IT IMEDIATLEY!!!!! It doesn't cost anything to suspend the service, and if you don't you're responsible for all calls made as you are responsible for not reporting the phone (don't yell at me now, I USED to work for them).

And changing your rate plan as easy as phoning up and saying "I'd like to change my rate plan."
