Try doing some research on the different Eras in Japan. One particularly interesting time in Japan is when the West comes to influence the Japanese, and the Emperor decides that Japan will modernize.

You could also do a presentation on famous samurai. There's no end to them, starting with Musashi. You know, when they lived/died, their notable achievements, sword styles, etc.

You could also talk about mental diseases related to Japanese culture. You get some weird stuff going on over there, although I'm sure they think we're creepy as well.
