Does this mean you have to collect the entire Vita library as well?

He may have to spend a whopping $100 to do that. :sneaky:

Apparently indie devs are loving the Vita. It has a high attach rate. If only the memory cards weren't so damn expensive, I'd probably get more use out of mine.

Anybody who's had PS+ for the last year or so could have a huge chunk of the library for free by now. It's been awesome.

The Vita is great; good choice Exdeath.

Keep on eye on Slickdeals. CowBoom usually has some good deals.

Unlikely. I didnt jump on it day one. Probably just RPGs and exclusives like I did with DS and PSP.

My attempt at PS4 complete library will likely end when Hanna Montanna or something comes out at retail. As is the only retail game I still don't have is Angry Birds....the ONLY game that has yet to be on sale in any capacity since launch and the only obe that shouldn't even be $9.99.

Will probably just suck it up and get an original for $199 while I can (barely). I don't expect any deals or bundles on an OLED model at this point, just going to be happy I can still get one from a retailer at MSRP.

The ZOMG RARE OUT OF STOCK FIRST EDITION OLED LQQK!!1!1! ONLY $99999 crap is already starting with them.

Was a low priority but eventual buy with PS4 integration, OLED model being removed, etc. But now a yet to be released in the US Tales game is the final straw.

Nevermind, I get what you're saying. Yes, if you want a NEW OLED get one now. Cowboom still has plenty of used at good prices and excellent condition; they usually come with original packaging too.

The Borderlands 2 bundle (with new Vita, BL2, 8 GB memory card) is $199 and comes out May 6.

I'm still debating picking this up -- recent looks say BL2 is running much better than earlier, and if nothing else I can play Persona 4 Golden on it.

Meh. Just picked up an original on New Egg for $199. New Egg and Best Buy still have them in stock on line for a 3G/Wifi OLED model, non bundle.

It's too bad I wasn't looking for one last November when it was $149 sigh.

I saw no point to get the 3G model when I bought it at launch. I just tether to my phone on LTE. It was much more than $199 though.

Yeah. Can't seem to find a non 3G version though. Best Buy and New Egg are the only places I'm finding new stock still and MSRP and they are both 3G.

Everything else I get are resellers, ebay, etc.

How is the PS4 streaming anyhow? I was playing SM3DW the other day and using the tablet and I noticed it looked off, like non native resolution, compression artifacts, etc. that I never noticed before.

Must be phasing them out silently before they introduce the LCD (slim) version. Supposed to be more comfortable but I have no issues with the OLED one plus the OLED screen offers better colors and blacks.

The remote play is actually very good. It uses the native resolution of the Vita and has very minimal lag. There are a few problems I have. First there are only two shoulder buttons on the Vita so the L2, R2, L3, R3 buttons are mapped to the rear touchpad which makes them tricky to use accurately for games that rely on them. Secondly there is a minor amount of input lag which is unavoidable when streaming games wirelessly. Some games require very twitch movement and the analog sticks are a bit sensitive and lack some precision as compared to the PS4 or PS3 controller, this makes the input lag even more difficult for some titles.

Tales of Hearts? More like Smells of Farts! Amirite?

No, but I've never heard of that game before.

You heard of Tales of Xillia, Tales of Symphonia, Tales of Vesperia? same series

In japan Tales of Hearts has two versions. The Anime Movie edition with animated cutscenes produced by Production I.G.and the CG Movie edition with cutscenes animated in CG by Shirogumi. It's the first game in the series to use CG for the characters in the event movies.

The high price of the memory cards curtails the usefulness of it though. It's still the single biggest flaw of the Vita. I just bought a 32GB SD card for my 3DS, which cost $30. The same size card for the Vita costs $75. How can they justify that?! The 8GB card I got with my Vita is full now but I can't bring myself to spend that much money getting a bigger card.

Too bad we are not worthy of the Vita TV.

They've expressed interest in it. Depends on how serious they are about expanding remote play. Though we never got the PlayTV so I'm not holding my breath on this one.

So just got it in today and been playing with it. Is remote play normally a little choppy or is Second Son the exception?

Works fine for me. Is your PS4 connected wirelessly or through Ethernet? You should be using a wired connection for the best results.

The only time I ever really noticed chopiness and all around poor execution was when I logged into my console remotely through a public Wi-Fi where I only had one bar of signal. I've even connected through my cell phone's hotspot and it's been fine. I did notice a little bit more input lag that way, but I was still able to play Resogun fine.

Using direct connect with PS4 itself as the hot spot to the Vita with them being 4 feet apart, both latest (1.62 and 3.12).

It's not BAD it's just ...playing Infamous you hold up the Vita next to the PS4 screen and it's noticeably less smooth. Native PS4 output is slick as glass while Vita is clearly dropping frames.

Talking about just holding the camera stick left or right and the Vita consistently dropping frames in the same spots like the stream encoder can't keep up with more complex scenes.

My first experience with this, just curious. I'd actually be more surprised if It didn't lag or jerk just a little.
