if it was created with text boxes you should be able to just click on the blank field and type. otherwise you cannot just fill in the blank spots. nothing you can do, it's the author of the application.

Adobe gives free PDF readers so that people get hooked on their product. Then they charge an arm and a leg to write a PDF - looks like $249 for the standard Acrobat program ($59 for students). There might be a free program that can mimic its functions, but I haven't seen one yet.

yes, unless the form was built as a form, you need the full version of Adobe Acrobat to change it

i guess there are ways around that, but i am sure they are illegal , wasn't the Russian guy arrested for cracking Adobe's system for e-books?

You can get Acrobat for under $100 if you're a student (and sometimes on sale). I hardly cost that an arm and a leg considering what it does.

You missed my edit by 1 minute. For $59 it does the same thing the free Notepad does in Windows (lets you type on your computer). Even Word for students is a lot cheaper for many students (not all). Office XP Pro costs $5 at my university.

There are tons of free ways of making forms and filling out blanks. Adobe has got to be one of the most expensive ways of doing it.

You mean like crash and hang and create files that are way bigger than they need to be?
It's very nice to be able to distribute electronic documents with fixed formatting, but Acrobat kinda sucks.

I have never had problems with Acrobat, and I used to work in the publishing industry. We used to have 2 + GB Acrobat files.
